I began this day overcoming frustration. I want to see BloggingMyWayForward in almost perfect shape by the time I go to bed tonight. I have had to use timers to keep myself sitting here because I kept running up against one-more-thing I never heard of or I knew nothing about, and my patients keeps getting pricked.
Thankfully, between all the YouTube help videos; all the help on the WordPress Forum and the great stuff you can find by just asking a question on Google–I am making progress, and it does feel good.
I finally learned how to get the comments box off my archives and contacts pages, and it turned out to be a no-brainer. I just needed someone to show me one time. I turned to YouTube for that, and there it was in a video with this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNZDAI2UDn8
All you have to do when you open a page is to go to the top right, and click on SCREEN OPTIONS. When you do that, there are several check boxes from which to choose. I did not know what they were for, so I just checked them all. It worked though. It turned out to be the one called DISCUSSION.
I’d say, “Duhh,” to that only when you are a beginner–what do you know?
I’m off working on widgets for now–but what I really want you to feel is “comfortable” in your internet marketing skin.
This is a fun business, and it has the potential to be immensely rewarding. What if you were a printer or a truck driver all your life, and a relative died and left you a successful restaurant. You would have a lot to learn, but you would stick to it because it was yours.
That’s the way I feel about this business. I probably don’t even know as much as you do at this point, but what I do know I am willing to share on this blog in the hopes that someone that is about to give up will get validated at the very least or–at the very best–one of my readers will learn something really valuable that will propel them many steps forward.
One thing I can promise. I hate these blogs about the internet business that give you only enough information to spur you onward until you realize they left out a few steps. You will NEVER EVER find that here.
Oh, and also… I’m keeping this up for posterity–just to remind myself from time to time–how far I have come.
